I have ordered several hitches from etrailer and been happy with all of them, including this one for my 2025 telluride.
Install took little under two hours including getting tools together and cleanup. Couple of suggestions after my install-
DO NOT cut the bumper piece per the instructions sheets. I marked it by their measurements and it looked odd - sure enough it would not have worked. I attached a photo, if you lay the piece upside side you can mark where to cut. You can’t see the cut after it’s installed unless you get on the ground, so don’t worry about getting it perfect.
The hardware on the exhaust side was the biggest pain. I had to torque from the nut side on the bolts that go through the frame. The socket extension from the other side was too long to manage by myself while holding the nut on the back side. And the heat shield on that side requires putting the washers on the hitch frame before passing the bolt through the washer and frame.
The video was very helpful. The printed instructions could use some updates. Example, it says there are four exhaust hangers to loosen but there are only three required.
Overall not too bad to install and I’m happy with the finished product. I didn’t have any shipping box issues like some have mentioned.

by:

Very good overall. A few things others may want to consider. The packaging is poor. The hitch is shipped in a cardboard box with no protection, so there were some dings and scratches. Having a can of glossy black spray paint available for touch ups available is a good idea.
Watch the video(s) before attempting, they are a helpful supplement to the instructions provided.
A couple notes from my installation: I recommend removing the plastic bumper cover before you mount the receiver. After removing, mount and hand tighten the receiver with the four smaller bolts to determine the exact location of the hitch and then mark the location for the bumper cover cuts with a marker. You can remove the bumper cover by just removing two screws and two push pins. This allowed me to make much more accurate and clean cuts with an oscillating saw. You can reattach the bumper cover without having to take down the hitch.

The only significant challenge was installing and tightening the two long bolts above the muffler (passenger side) due to the heat shield making the space around the bolt heads very tight. I hand to use a punch to pound the reward most bolt into the hole since I couldn't fit it in by hand. Then, I couldn't fit a socket or the round part of a hand wrench around the bolt head since there's not enough space and I couldn't reach both sides of the bolt since the muffler is in the way. Ultimately, I found I could fit the crescent (open) side of a hand wrench around the bolt head and wedge it against the car's frame to keep it from spinning while I tightened the nut side with a socket wrench.
You may want to consider borrowing a powered right angle impact wrench - or at least have someone else hold the crescent wrench while you tighten the bolt with a socket wrench.

Lastly, I backed my Telluride up to the back of my (level) garage and used the downward slope of my driveway to give me a few extra inches of clearance to work. Ramps would have been much better. Borrow a set or use some blocks if possible.

Despite the challenges, it turned out great!

I love the detail! Thank you so much for taking the time to write all that out. Anyone who comes across your review is going to be glad they did because of all the info theyll glean. What all do you plan to use the hitch for?

by:

Easy to install with the helpful video. Some parts are harder to access than others, but all the bolts lined up perfectly and no issues. It took me 1 hour or less for the whole thing with the rear wheels on blocks

by:

Very happy with my hitch purchase from etrailer. The hitch shipped the same day I ordered it, and it arrived literally the next day.
The hitch included clear instructions and I installed it in about 90 minutes. Great experience from end to end with this purchase.

Your experience here is basically the poster child for what we hope everyone can experience too! Thanks for sharing the photo -- hitch looks great!

by:

Great hitch! Went in just like the description states. Love the fitment! I opted to leave the cover off instead of cutting it for now.

by:

The trailer hitch is well engineered and made, fit perfectly. Everything needed to do the installation was included. the only problem was it's not packaged very well and you'll need a can of black paint to touch up the scratches.

That's awesome! Looks like you did a great job. What are you towing with the new hitch?

The hitch receiver works perfectly.
Was
kind of tough to install by myself though. No fault of the hitch.

No problems.

by:

Perfect fit nice detailed video of installation. However never 5 star only because nowhere to mount wire harness. All hitches should have some sort of mount even simple flat plate

by:

Hitch is 1/8 inch to narrow between the car frame. I was worried it might tweek the frame as I tried to tighten it to 79 ft-lbs torque. Now the right side rear passenger door trim is rubbing on front door trim when opening, so I think it did bend the frame ever so slightly. Also the trim cut-out template was incorrect for the width of the receiver. This was for a 2024 Kia Telluride EX. Other than that I think it will work out ok, not planning on doing any serious towing. The online videos were very helpful with the installation process.

by:

Customer service at trailer is top notch! Although the box arrived damaged and parts of the hitch were scratched, but this is only the fault of the shipping company. Overall the hitch is in good shape and mounted perfectly on the Telluride. Good instructions, great videos from etrailer, and a solid product from Curt!

by:

Unbelievable delivery
I have not opened
the box yet but so far all is well

by:

The hitch is great but this is my second time ordering through etrailer and I have been very impressed both times with the level of service.

by:

Great instructions and super easy to install. Got delivered quickly!

by:

Great fit and after 1 year it shows no sign of wear. Excellent product

by:

This is the second hitch I purchased from etrailer and I am extremely satisfied with the video's provided on the website, which helped me decide on the specific hitch I wanted (this one mounted higher and required a minor cutting of the removable bumper panel which I wanted for a clean custom look and for use of my son's platform dirt bike carrier). The video's were "spot-on" and super accurate and easy to understand, which helped greatly with the installation. etrailer is a "top-notch" company and has accurate information for specific installations. The hitch arrived on time and in great condition (packaged appropriately for the delivery). The hitch is of great quality and workmanship (welds and finish). The instructions to install were accurate and easy to understand. The dimensions to cut the removable bumper panel were also accurate and easy to mark out. Installation came out perfect! I will always purchase my hitches from etrailer. I have recommended this company to two friends and they are both satisfied with the company and products purchased.

by:

Purchased this for my 2020 Telluride and it fit perfectly. Everything lined up and the installation video was spot on. Definitely would recommend. My husband & I installed in a little over an hour.

Perfectly!! I love it!! And recommend it to other Telluride Owners. One ordered and awaiting arrival.

I didn’t have a lift and I stalled it while laying on my back in my driveway. The hitch was easy, my wife’s car was a pain in the ass. But all and all great product as always. Thank you.
Would recommend for any level of DIY’s

Oh man, nothing irks me more than having to track down little pieces like that! Glad you were able to get it done and didn't succumb to a rage quit haha!

by:

Installed it on my 2022 Kia Telluride and video instructions were great.

by:

it was a little tight to install, but fit perfectly.

by:

Kia Telluride 2020: Fit was perfect, video on Youtube was excellent, installation was straightforward. It took less time than I thought it would. I did a 2012 Outback a few years ago and that required removing the bumper, so I expected a few hour job. The Telluride was less than an hour, and would have been faster if not for the stoopid rubber exhaust hangers that made it so hard to drop the exhaust.

by:

This hitch looks and feels like a beast! Once installed and fasteners tightened it feels like it’ll tow every ounce of its rated weight.

I installed by myself in about 4 hours (which included a trip to Wally World to get a new jack when my husky decided it was done.

A couple of tips that I guarantee will make your install easier:

#1: DEFINITELY install/screw in the bolts on the exhaust (passenger) side FIRST. This is exactly what the instructions say to do, but me being the “genius” I am decided to forget about that part and screw in the driver side first.

2.) You would be well served to purchase an “exhaust hanger removal tool” for removing the hangers from the exhaust pipe. They’re all over Amazon for $16-$25. I recommend the Lisle 38350 pliers. $16.19 and 1-day shipping. If you have never dealt with removing exhaust hangers before, I promise you it will be worth every penny (even if you use it only once). It’ll save much time and many headaches.

3.) When it comes time to trim the bumper panel to allow room for the hitch, use a jigsaw with laminate blade. My cordless dewalt jigsaw w/laminate blade cut through the panel like butter and made getting a perfect fit very easy (see pictures). Obviously this requires removing the panel altogether, but I would recommend doing this regardless of what tool you’re using for the trimming.

Also, the included instructions for the 2022 Telluride version show the spare tire being lowered by using a wrench on the underside of the vehicle. While this is possible, it is exponentially easier to lower it by using a 13/16” socket on the bolt accessed from under the removable back floorboard panel (if my description of the location is confusing, see page 6-16 of the ‘22 Telluride Owner’s Manual for an illustration and better description).

Overall I give this 5 stars. I am by no means an expert (or even moderate, for that matter) “car guy”, and was able to install by myself in one day. That being said, I am above average in strength so don’t assume you will be able to do it alone - the hitch is pretty hefty (which of course is a good thing), especially when maneuvering it while on your back under the car.

If you follow the 3 tips listed above, I guarantee it will significantly reduce your install time and result in a cleaner, more professional look.

by:

Everything is bolt on and extremely easy to install if you follow the video instruction or the instructions that come with the product. In addition to the hitch, I also got the harness which was easy to install. Thanks etrailer for making my family road trip happen.

We have done several installs on Telluride models 2020-2024 and a latch replacement has never been needed. I even double checked with Curt and they confirmed this. The latch replacement must be specific to the Kia OEM hitch and is likely something that would only be done at a dealership.
